WordPress Mobile is a lightweight plugin that can provide an phone optimized version of your blog to visitors. The plugin will attempt to detect if the browser client is one of the known phone clients, if this is the case your visitor will be provided with an alternate WordPress page.
Download the current version here.
Installing the plugin is easy and can be done by anyone who manages your blog or website. Below are the steps that should be taken
/wp-content/plugins' directory in your WordPress installation. You need to have either access to your installation through FTP or SFTP to do this, contact your site admin if you don’t know how to do this.WordPress Mobile‘ plugin (not yet working in version 2.0)Settings‘ -> ‘WordPress Mobile‘ to configure the plugin (not yet working in version 2.0)In the configuration you can set which browser clients you want to serve the mobile version of the blog to, this will set the auto detection when visitors are visiting the WordPress blog. If you don’t want the plugin to try and detect this automatically turn them all to ‘Normal version‘. You can also change the template that the plugin uses. This template defines how the mobile version of your blog will look like.
If you wish to use a completely different domain to host your mobile version on then set the ‘Mobile Url’ to this domain or sub-domain, leave empty if you do not wish to use this feature. When filled out the plugin will automatically rewrite all links inside the blog to the mobile url. Please note that this requires some additional setup to work, see the setting up a mobile domain chapter on this page.
