Worked for me too!! But now I think I’ll disable and uninstall for the similar reasons as Joseph.

I had a similar problem. WinDVD would not start and gave only an error =1. Turned out to be a new installation of Panda Cloud Antivirus. Stopped the antivirus and Windvd worked as normal.

Thanks for the information. Google brought me here after encountering the problem. I detest applications such as these that require a 3rd party licensing application to be running on your PC all the time just to use their software. Between Apple, Adobe, Microsoft and many other software publishes I probably have 10-20 of these applications running in the background, using up memory and slowing down my PC for important things such as 3D rendering, video encoding and PC gaming.
